Writing is a complex process for ESL students. The student is required not only to focus on grammar and structure, but also to express interesting and creative ideas in writing. This photocopiable resource book has been developed to address this challenge. Each of the twelve units has been tried with a range of second language students. All of the examples used are set in the context of living as an international student abroad.

Each unit contains:

• Generating ideas pair work, discussion, dialogues and questionnaires designed to meet student interest and spark ideas
• Writing model various writing genres presented as models
• Exercises based on the writing model these include tense, link words, paragraph and writing structure and vocabulary exercises
• A student writing task followed by evaluation and self checking
