Read and Respond: Activities that Guide Independent Reading

A literature based reading programme is an integral part of teaching reading in any classroom during the year. The programme involves daily reading of texts both for information and enjoyment that students choose themselves and can understand. They will develop a love of reading, build up reading mileage as well as fluency, and grow in confidence becoming independent readers and learners. This book includes a host of independent, meaningful, fun reading responses which require students to return to the text.

The responses will help students to:
