everyone is fearful for their lives. Rachel and her best friend Robert worry

family become infectedLike Rachel, Robert and his family are very frightened
people are dropping dead all around them. When Rachels family catch the
plague his misery increases. Then his father forbids him to see his best friend
Rachel in case he falls victim to the plague too. But Robert wont let his
friend die without help. Can their friendship survive during this dark, dark
hour in Englands history?

About the Author
Philip Wooderson has written more than twenty books for children, published by
A & C Black, Franklin Watts, Scholastic, Heinemann and Oxford University Press.
His historical fiction includes the light-hearted Nile Files series and a
forthcoming title, The Diary of Samuel Pepyss Servant, for Franklin Watts. His
childrens fiction has twice been nominated Guardian Book of the Week. Philip
has also just completed an adult novel called Tuscan Madonna. Philip divides
his time equally between his homes in Correglia, Italy and Ramsgate, Kent.
